Overview
The existing asphalt sidewalk on the western side of the Joffre Street is being removed and replaced with a 1.5m concrete sidewalk in approximately the same location. In order to facilitate the new sidewalk and provide an improved walking surface, City of Victoria crews will be relocating the existing water meters.
Project Description
The improvements to Joffre Street include:
- New concrete sidewalk from 546 Joffre Street to Lyall Street along the western side of the road
- Some new curb and gutter
- Improved sidewalk let down at southwest corner of Esquimalt Road and Joffre Street
- Some new asphalt driveways
- Relocation of water meters
Project Schedule
City of Victoria crews plan to begin construction early August. The water meter relocations will take approximately 1-2 weeks. Esquimalt crews will then complete the remaining portion of the project which is estimated at 3-4 weeks.
