UPDATED - Spring Break Daycare Worker - Auxiliary

 

INTERNAL/EXTERNALOPPORTUNITY

[THIS IS A UNION POSITION]

 

This is an auxiliary, 2 week position requiring the incumbent to work March 19-29, 2018 between the hours of 6:45am and 5:45pm, and for 1-2 evenings of training with the Community Services area of Parks and Recreation.

 

This position requires you to supervise and plan a wide variety of activities in a spring break camp setting for children ages 5 to 12 years. The incumbent will:

• Ensure the fun and safety of all participants through site and risk management

• Be responsible for program planning, risk management, first aid, and program implementation

• Communicate and work cooperatively with participants, parents, co-workers and supervisors

• Have strong leadership abilities and knowledge of games, crafts, sports, and outdoor recreational activities for children ages 5-12 years

• Provide excellent customer service and public relations

• Enjoy working in a recreational environment 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a  leadership role

• Experience planning and leading activities or games

• Fun, outgoing personality with eagerness to learn and work with kids

• Current Standard First Aid / CPR C

• Clear Criminal Record Check

 

 

SALARY:

$16.80 per hour/2016 rates (plus 14% in lieu of benefits)
