Skate Instructor - Auxiliary

Scheduled hours may vary, 7 days a week with typical 2 hour shifts.

The preferred candidate will have experience in:

  • Preparing lesson plans
  • Instructing children ages 3-12 years in skating lessons
  • Assessing children’s skating skills
  • Completing written report cards
  • Communicating with parents/caregivers on their child’s progress
  • Ensuring facility policies, procedures and regulations are implemented ensuring the ice complex area is safe.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is completed for all accidents and incidents.
  • Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, providing guidance and encouragement in learning new skills
  • Strong skating skills
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Inter‐municipal Learn to Skate Instructors Training (preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with our team
