$16.93 per hour (plus 14% in lieu of benefits) 
 
Auxiliary positions are available April 30 - June 21, 2018 for the following shifts;
Mondays 4:30-7:00pm plus 1 hour prep time/week
Wednesdays 5:30-8pm plus 1 hour prep time/week
Thursdays 4:45-7:15pm plus 1 hour prep time/week
 
These positions require you to plan and facilitate cooking classes in a kitchen setting for children/youth 7yrs+.
 
The incumbent will:
Ensure a fun and safe environment for all participants through site and risk management
Be responsible for lesson planning, first aid, and program implementation
Compile a cooking manual for each set of classes with healthy recipes
Consistently instruct engaging, interactive classes
Communicate and work cooperatively with participants, parents, co-workers and supervisors
Have strong leadership skills
Have a strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen safety
Be responsible for purchasing foodstuffs and supplies needed for each class
Set-up and clean-up the teaching space before and after each class
Provide excellent customer service and public relations
 
The preferred candidate will have:
Experience planning and leading children’s programs and activities
Current First Aid Certificate
Criminal Record Check
Foodsafe Certificate
 
 
Incumbents will teach the following cooking courses:
 
The Secret Ingredient (11-16yrs)
Cook, bake, chop & create during The Secret Ingredient cooking/baking studio! No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm! All supplies & equipment are provided. This is an inspiring, creative space for you to explore cooking & baking skills. Instructor Ariana will be in the kitchen each week, providing you with coaching & mentorship. Guest chefs will visit from time to time, providing tips & inspiration. This is a pre-registered program; purchase a seasonal pass & receive unlimited Studio access for $50. Late registrations will be pro-rated if spaces are available. A very limited number of single admissions may be available if space permits, for $8 per admission (please book single admissions ahead of time). Spring Baking (7-12yrs)
Bake cookies, cake & sweets you can duplicate at home. Learn how to make your baking look as good as it tastes and discover the functions of common baking tools.

Breakfast Extravaganza (7-12yrs)
Prepare delicious breakfast favourites in a kid-friendly, fun environment. Complete new recipes each week while learning skills for safe, enjoyable and successful cooking experiences. Classes provide kids with the confidence and ability to assist you in the kitchen at home.
