Located next to downtown Victoria, the Township of Esquimalt, with a population of over 17,000, is home to Canada’s Pacific Naval Fleet. The community boasts extensive amenities including beautiful parks and beaches, scenic waterfront walkways as well as modern recreational facilities, schools and commercial services.
The Parks and Recreation is seeking a motivated individual to fill an Auxiliary regular for Spring Break Daycare Worker position. This is a 2 week position requiring the incumbent to work March16-29, 2020 between the hours of 6:45am and 5:45pm and for 1-2 evenings of training with the Community Services area of Parks and Recreation.
This position requires you to supervise and plan a wide variety of activities in a spring break camp setting for children ages 5 to 12 years. The incumbent will:
- Ensure the fun and safety of all participants through site and risk management
- Be responsible for program planning, risk management, first aid, and program implementation
- Communicate and work cooperatively with participants, parents, co-workers and supervisors
- Have strong leadership abilities and knowledge of games, crafts, sports, and outdoor recreational activities for children ages 5-12 years
- Provide excellent customer service and public relations
- Enjoy working in a recreational environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in a leadership role
- Experience planning and leading activities or games
- Fun, outgoing personality with eagerness to learn and work with kids
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C
- Clear Criminal Record Check

Salary: $18.09 – $19.57 hourly plus benefits
Hours per week: Expected to work up to 40 hours per week, for duration of Spring Break holiday.
