Located next to downtown Victoria, the Township of Esquimalt, with a population of over 17,000, is home to Canada’s Pacific Naval Fleet. The community boasts extensive amenities including beautiful parks and beaches, scenic waterfront walkways as well as modern recreational facilities, schools and commercial services.

The Engineering and Public Works Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a temporary, full-time, auxiliary Refuse Collector/Truck Driver position. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the incumbent will perform manual labour tasks in the collection of household refuse and kitchen scraps including the operation of a refuse truck.

The ideal candidate will have previous refuse collection experience. Other preferred qualifications include:

•    Current and valid Class 3 BC driver’s licence with air endorsement

Salary: $28.50 hourly (2021 rates) plus 14 % in lieu of benefits
Temporary Position: expected to work 40 hours per week, up to 6 months
