Quake Cottage and Emergency Volunteer Information Session

The Quake Cottage gives you a safe way to experience an earthquake for 30 seconds.

Stop off at our information booths to learn what you need to be prepared for not just an earthquake but also other hazards in our region.

Our amazing Emergency Program Volunteers will also be on hand to talk about how you can join the team and help support your community. 

The Esquimalt Emergency Program is looking for volunteers for the following emergency teams:

• Emergency Support Services (Evacuee Assistance) - Receive training as an emergency responder and assist residents displaced by house fires, apartment fires, police armed stand-offs, and other larger disasters.
• Emergency Radio Communications - Learn about radio communications, amateur radio license preferred, and provide vital communications back-up during emergencies.
• Neighbourhood Emergency Preparedness Program – Receive training in community disaster response. Learn about personal preparedness and the hazards that impact the community. Support community events with booths and information sessions. 

No experience necessary. Training is free.
