Background
Starting in October 2015 the Township of Esquimalt began a review of its Official Community Plan (OCP). Esquimalt's previous plan was adopted in March 2007 and although there is no statutory timeline for review, it is important that the plan be reviewed and updated regularly to ensure it continues to reflect the values and aspirations of the community. The review process started in 2015 and was adopted by Council on June 25, 2018.
An official community plan is a statement of the municipality’s goals and policies and is intended to provide direction for future growth and development in the community.
