Q: A lesson set 5 days/week, is that too much for my preschooler?
A: Young children often progress most successfully through repetition. The week-long lessons provide the perfect opportunity for this. Often we hear parent's concerned about it being too much for their child but after participating in the set, the child's success and enjoyment of the lessons, speak volumes. However, as all children may progress differently, we are pleased to offer a variety of lessons options over the summer: 5 days/week, Monday to Friday; 2 days/week, Mondays and Wednesdays; 1 day/week, Saturdays. This 5 day/week lesson option is available during Spring Break and Summer lessons.
Q: I am not sure what level to register my child in, what do I do?
A: At your next visit to the pool, please speak with a lifeguard and they will be able to complete one during your swim.
Q: What is "Parent's Day"?
A: Parent's Day occurs during the middle of the lesson set. Parent's/Guardian's are invited to join in with the lessons to see where their child is at/what they are learning. Parents will be active in the water learning water safety skills and techniques to support the development of their child's swimming.
Q: How is my child evaluated?
A: Continuous evaluation provides children with an opportunity to always celebrate their successes! To complete a level, all skills must be accurately demonstrated 3 times within the same set. This helps ensure continuous success in all levels whether a swimmer completes the entire level the first time or not, they continually progress.
We take pride in helping to support a child to progress at their own pace - being challenged but not overwhelmed to complete skills. At any time, should you have questions about your child's progress please speak with the Team Leader and they will be happy to help!
