Home Owner Grants
The purpose of the Home Owner Grant is to help reduce the amount of residential property tax British Columbians pay. The basic grant can reduce your property tax by as much as $570. The minimum tax payable ($350) ensures that all property owners contribute towards the funding of local services such as road maintenance and police protection.
Apply in person or by mail:
- Complete and sign the Application for Home Owner Grant printed on the bottom of the property tax notice or download the Home Owner Grant Application.
- Return the Home Owner Grant application (in person, by mail, or through the Municipal Hall drop-box). Faxed or photocopies applications will not be accepted.
- Use your folio number and access code from your tax notice to log in here.
You can claim your Home Owner Grant, even if you are not making a property tax payment.
Home Owner Grant applications that are incomplete, unclaimed, or received after the tax due date will result in a 10% penalty charge.
