Esquimalt Village Project
The Esquimalt Village Project is a comprehensive project, which will look at long-term planning for Esquimalt’s town core.
Planning consultants Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden and Landeca were contracted for the planning phase of this project in early 2007 and refined Village Core planning options were presented to Esquimalt Council in the spring of 2008. Timelines for the selection and implementation of a preferred option have not yet been established.
The objectives of the project are to:
- Create a lively and sustainable Esquimalt town centre, which incorporates a mix of uses and community recreation needs;
- Revitalize Esquimalt’s town core and enhance community economic development, while providing residents with a wider range of amenities and services;
- Capitalize on and enhance the value of public and private assets in the core;
- Enhance sustainability of municipal facilities and infrastructure.
