Council Meetings
Overview
Regular Council Meetings
Council meetings in Esquimalt are held on the first and third Monday of every month, unless the meeting falls on a statutory holiday.
Council meetings are open to the public unless Council passes a resolution to go In Camera to deal with issues of a confidential nature, usually related to finances, personnel, property or legal matters.
Committee of the Whole Meetings
- discuss long-term planning and policy development issues
- discuss complex administration, finance, zoning, and land development issues
- consider other matters in depth
- provide a less formal forum for public input on matters placed before the Committee
Recommendations from the Committee of the Whole are referred to a regular Council meeting before any decisions are made.
