Heritage Recognition

Please Help Us to Recognize Heritage Preservation Efforts in our Community

Do you own a well-kept older home with unique architectural features? Is there such a residence in your neighbourhood? The Esquimalt Heritage Advisory Committee is seeking nominations to recognize homeowners who make a special effort to preserve and improve their older homes. A limited number of Heritage Recognition Certificates will be presented to homeowners whose properties meet all of the following criteria:

  • Clean, tidy, well-kept
  • Architecturally unique
  • Maintenance of the original architecture design, i.e., no significant alterations
  • Historical landscape features, preserved or replicated
  • Design representative of a particular era or architectural style

Homes built prior to 1930 will be given preference, however those with heritage designation will not be eligible for this award.
